The Expressive Visual Arts Club is a refreshed version of our previous art clubs, with the name intentionally changed to better reflect its focus and values. This club is designed to build your child’s creative confidence by providing them with the freedom to explore and express themselves artistically.

Ages: 6 - 11 years old

Dates: February - June 2025

Times: Tuesdays (4:30 - 6:15 pm) or Wednesdays (4:00 - 5:45 pm)

We encourage self-expression, exploration, and experimentation through a variety of art mediums and techniques. Children are introduced to different art forms, including drawing, mark-making, painting, 2D and 3D collages, mixed media and printmaking.

We believe that children are innately creative, and we aim to nurture this creativity in a gentle and supportive environment. The focus is on allowing children to enjoy the process of making art that reflects their inner worlds, imagination and experiences.

Throughout the sessions, children will explore various painting mediums, such as watercolours, gouache, acrylics, oil pastels, and soft pastels. Our lessons also incorporate basic colour theory and elements of art history, helping children understand the broader context of their creative journey.

We prioritise the creative process over the final artwork, providing children with the tools, techniques, time, and space to create in a way that supports their expressiveness and mental well-being. Our club offers a respite from the stresses children may face at school, giving them a creative outlet where they can freely express themselves under guidance while learning new skills and techniques.

Two make-up sessions are offered each term; however, please note that these will take place on weekends. Additionally, some optional extra classes or trips may be organised.

The club introduces new exercises and different influences each term, keeping the club dynamic and fresh.
